An International Women’s Day Conference, Retreat & Celebration on Isla Mujeres

We Move Forward Newsletter – 9/18/2013

SPEAKER ANNOUNCEMENT:
We are pleased to announce that Mary Carwile will be speaking at We Move Forward 2014! In her presentation, ‘Soaring Above The Turbulence’, Mary will bring you into her world. At age 55, with not one but two divorces behind her, and a diagnosis of breast cancer, Mary found herself at a crossroads. What was next? Never in her wildest dreams would she have anticipated her next move.  Mary found herself literally watching the life she knew getting smaller in her rear-view mirror, as she left her mountain home of 30 years to begin a new life in the city…as a flight attendant.  Mary calls this job her “mid-life crisis – what was I thinking job” given her fear of flying and of being in small spaces.  Dressed in her airline uniform, Mary will welcome you aboard her story, one of airline analogies filled with life circumstances that will go right to your heart.  You will take away messages that you can shift into action during turbulent times.  And, as the flight comes to an end, Mary reminds us that we don’t sit in turbulence, we move through it, seatbelts fastened and secured for landing.  An award winning author, Mary has written two books, and stories featured in Chicken Soup for the Soul.

WE MOVE FORWARD Q & A CORNER

Most FAQ: What will I gain by attending We Move Forward?

Answer:  We knew that the best person to answer this question is a previous WMF attendee.  Here’s what Beth has to say:

“My name is Beth Wohlfahrt and I live in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada.  When I turned 50 – a few short years ago – I decided that I was going to start to pursue some of the adventures that comprised my long list of “round to its” I had rolling around in my head.  Through a fortunate set of circumstances, I came upon the We Move Forward website (thanks Kim!).  While I love to travel with family and friends, one adventure on my list was to take a trip that would move me out of my comfort zone to a new place to explore, and a conference that challenged me to start living with Passion & Purpose seemed just the thing.  I would be travelling without my husband or my gang of friends.  I really didn’t have any expectations when I arrived on Isla Mujeres for the first time in March 2013 – but days later I was beyond content.  I had laughed, cried, meditated, danced and shared stories with some of the most interesting women I have met in my life.  But most of all, after WMF 2013 I was motivated to embrace my life.  As women, we find Passion and Purpose in so many different things – listening to and sharing with women who exemplify that motivated me to keep moving forward – to live my “round to its” list.  I’ve just registered to attend WMF 2014, and can’t wait to see what life has in store for me through and beyond this experience.”
