Mary Ann Burns is a certified massage therapist and energy worker, will once again be providing We Move Forward participants with quickie massages before sessions and during breaks for the entirety of the conference. Mary Ann has been a full time resident of Isla Mujeres for 25 years. She first came to the island for a 2-day tour after living with a Guatemalan family in Antigua to study Spanish. With Isla Mujeres, it was love at first sight, so she returned the following winter and never left. Here she met and married Ricardo Gaitan, who runs the island’s only optical shop and together they have two sons, both presently abroad attending university. Inspired by the Dalai Lama Peace Center in Vancouver, Mary Ann built a small dome on the southern end of the island available for meditation, where she also offers classes in yoga, and works as a massage therapist. In the words of a WMF participant, “Mary Ann is such a sweet, caring woman with great hands and a big heart.”
